In a series of Word Pleas, we question use, neologising and dehumanisation of the English language in a not robust or rigorous way. Please feel free to contribute.
Our first Plea is to re-assess the way in which we talk about how we treat each other linguistically. No, it’s not to do with intersectionality or any political or gender areas. This plea is about Hurt.
Please can we stop using ‘negatively impact’ and use ‘hurt’ instead when it comes to fellow humans? Otherwise we’re talking about humans in the same way that we talk about spreadsheet line-items.
