Following the recent UK General Election result, which confirmed to me that Imhad to actually do something to help drag the country back from selfism and the self-flagellation of “austerity”, I rejoined the Labour Party. The email I received to confirm this is both pleasing and saddening.
It’s from outgoing leader Ed Miliband. He seemed a pleasant fellow but not one I could support. So, it’s sad to see him go as another reasonable but ineffectual human being ends his personal dream.
However, he comes from a dark time in Labour history, the Blair/Brown years, the war and centrism years. So his departure is a good sign.
I now get to have a say in the new leadership of the party. It feels good.
